Another game project on which I spent some considerable time was in the development of a Neverwinter Nights 2 persistent world. While this never did go live, the city of Thresh had been developed, part of the surrounding countryside, and a dock downriver from Thresh that served as an introduction area.
When first entering the game, the player was given some background information and a choice on whether to start his or her adventures in the "good" city of Thresh or the "evil" city of Hinnom.

Thresh was the main city of the entire region and would serve as the player's initial base of operations had he or she chosen that path. Once debarked from the boat, the player could interact with the town folk and discover what needed to be done to make the region a safer place. It was a lot of work to put Thresh together, but it was a lot of fun as well.
A bit of the countryside surrounding Thresh also received some development work, including this cottage and waterfall area.
